World Qualifier (WQ) is an annual championship tournament, held locally, where qualified teams throughout the league-year battle it out to earn their spot to compete at the APA World Pool Championships - the World's Largest Pool Tournament.
South OC APA currently sends two (2) 8-Ball teams and two (2) 9-Ball teams to the World Pool Championships in Las Vegas!

World Qualifiers (WQ) take place in May/June each year. Teams can qualify for this local championship event by winning a Tri-Annual Tournament held at the end of each qualifying session, (Summer, Fall, and Spring). South OC APA World Qualifier is a 16-team Double Elimination Bracket. Two (2) teams from each format (8-Ball and 9-Ball) will advance to the World Pool Championships (WPC) from the local WQ. Winning teams (4) will receive trophies, paid entry, hotel rooms, and travel assistance to offset the cost of traveling to the event in Las Vegas.
Team Eligibility Requirements:
Qualified teams must maintain active status
Qualified teams must retain four (4) original members. This means that a team that qualifies in the Summer Session must retain four original members in the subsequent Fall and Spring Sessions. A team that qualifies in the Fall Session must retain four original members in the subsequent Spring Session.
50% Rule for Qualified Teams: Qualified teams that do not finish in the top half of their division in the session(s) after they qualify are subject to heavy scrutiny of their handicaps and/or potential loss of qualification at the discretion of their League Operator.
Player Eligibility Requirements:
Players must maintain a current APA Membership
Players must have played four (4) times with the team during in the regular Spring Session (prior to playoffs) leading into the World Qualifier.
Players must have a minimum of 10 lifetime matches in the appropriate format (8-Ball or 9-Ball) by the end of the Spring Session leading into the World Qualifier (WQ).
